7 trendy pieces from LFW SS20 I’d actually wear.

London Fashion Week often gets a rep for showcasing crazy and impractical clothes that the average person couldn’t wear let alone afford. In part this is definitely true but there are also so many looks I see on the runway I would wear in real life if I had the money, and that I therefore can use as inspo when I’m shopping around. Here are 7 Spring Summer 2020 looks from this week’s LFW that I’d put in my wardrobe (and actually wear).

Marta Jakubowski SS20

Burberry SS20

Say hello to Marta Jakubowski and Burberry, both serving us some lovely slanted zips. I am digging Marta’s boxy leather jacket. Did anyone else already know lilac and brown are soulmates?? Because I sure didn’t. I would definitely wear this with something equally structured at the bottom to balance out the shape. I sense the jacket would look even cooler unzipped. And the Burberry ensemble? You can just bury me in that whole outfit, I love it. A basic look in a really non-basic way. I always feel extra kick-ass when I’m dressed in all, well-fitted black. I definitely want to create more of those type of looks.

David Koma SS20

The 80’s revisited. Bulky sleeved jackets and ruffles skirts, gives me real Cyndi Lauper, girls just wanna have fun vibes. And even in 2019 is still appears to be true, girls still do wanna have fun. We wanna do other things too, but you know fun is included. So cheers to that David Koma. Both dresses are from the brand, the layered bouncy white skirt’s looks like the kind that’ll make your legs look amazing. Plus, I love me a skater skirt with some BOUNCE; that feeling it gives of my bare butt isn’t too far from the outside world, I love a little fashion on the edge. But the leather-look/PVC vibes of the black are BOMB. I’d wear this on a nice autumn afternoon out with a friend where I wanna stand around and look cute all because why the hell not. My hands would stay firmly planted in those skirt pockets worn And with a COMFORTABLE barely-there shoe. This laid back sexy af look demands me to gliiiide not hobble around.

JW Anderson SS20

Moments like this, from JW Anderson, make me praise the lord I’m tall. BIG OVERSIZED COAT season will soon be upon us and guess who’ll be looking like they’re wearing the flyest dressing gown you’ve never had? This girl. The silver is a nice strong choice for me when you have the most basic betty outfit underneath and nice trainers. And to the non-sleeve sleeves on the trench coat I say haaaay. It’s the kind of coat I’d wear with over-the-knee high boots on a warmish coldish day, due to the sleeves that don’t have much function.

A simple look that screams I have effortless style. Burberry really kept it minimal this season and I’m not mad about it. I like the idea of a dress that’s the same length as a jacket, even moreso when that dress is collared. Bella Hadid looks comfy and chic, two things I will forever aspire to be. I think I’d wear this look out anywhere; work, drinks, lunch, shopping in Aldi you name it.

So there you have it friends, and believe me I bet there are loads more looks just waiting to be seen by you expected or unexpected fashionista. Share the names of some of your favourite LFW designers in the comments below.
