During This Season Of Coronavirus, I Am A Flip Flop

I flop between emotions: between laughter at all the funny memes that have surfaced- congratulations internet, you remain undefeated

And the eerie silence after hearing more depressing news about the number of deaths and casualties suffered.

I flip between fierce faith as I pray for this to end and people to be safe

And that little rising panic from the unknown of when this will all be over.

I flop between great thankfulness that I'm okay

And longing for the day this will all be a strange, distant memory

I flip between enjoying the peace of being at home

And forcing myself not to dwell on the trapped feeling that I sometimes wake up with

I flop between hope that grows big and bright as I read psalms 91

And standing behind a huge wall called Uncertainty which seems big enough to block out even the sun

I flip between gratefulness, that I live in a wealthy country with a strong free medical system, have a job that's pretty secure and access to supermarkets that have enough food (I'm absolutely throwing shade here)

And sadness because SO many other people don't have all these things right now.

If you can't tell by now, I have no clue how to feel during this time. But I'm deciding to keep choosing hope above it all.

May you don't know how to feel either. That is okay.

If you're laughing at a meme right now, good. Laughter is good.

If you're nervous right now- that's valid too. Speak to someone, let it out. I do.

I was trying to figure out which angle to take for this post and after lots of struggling it hit me - the honest one, duh.

Continuing in the spirit of honesty, I don't feel like takings photos much these days but I do love how these images came out - up close and real personal.
